• Operating principles and parts of semi-automatic handguns

• Operating principles and parts of ammunition

• Best safety practices for training with and the carrying of any firearm

• Flat range rules, etiquette, and safety

• Handgun loading and unloading 

• Basic stance, target acquisition, sight picture, breathing, trigger press, follow-through

• Basic malfunction recognition and remedies

• Handgun maintenance and storage
